Catch Assaulted Fish This Fall - Coming to a stage, screen and bistro near you!

n557801054_2128478_8963

Hi Fish Fans,

We had a spectacular summer and hope you did too! With fall just around the corner (yes, we, too, will deny it until the Gortex and galoshes have to come out), look for Assaulted Fish performances north and south of the border, on stage and on screen!

First up...A recession-friendly show @ the Wired Monk Bistro in Kitsilano.

We're performing two 20-minute sets of our favourite sketches, as well as a few new ones we're hoping will become favourites. Best of all, no entry fee or tickets to buy. Instead, we encourage you to support the Wired Monk with a java/menu purchase. They serve organic coffee, loose leaf tea, specialty coffees, tapas items and (yum!) dessert. They're licensed to serve wine and beer and will have drink specials too.

Come early as seating is limited. See you there!

WIRED MONK SHOW DETAILS

Date: Thursday, September 24

Time: 8:00pm to 9:00pm

Place: 2610 West 4th Avenue (at Trafalgar) in Vancouver

Next up...We're going south...south of the border that is for a Fish 'n' Pork reunion.

We're thrilled to be performing with the amazing Pork Filled Players once again, Seattle's oldest sketch comedy group. They've gone retro this time with their 'Pork to the Future' show and we're going along for the ride! Join us for what is sure to be a totally rad time!

SEATTLE SHOW DETAILS

Time: 8:00pm

Place: Odd Duck Studio, 1214 10th Avenue in Seattle, WA

Then...it's back in Vancouver for the Heart of the City Festival.

It's going to be a terrific night of entertainment at the Carnegie Community Centre Theatre with musical guests and other performers. More details to come about this November 1 event. Stay tuned!

Also in November...look for Assaulted Fish on the big screen!

Our short film, "Dandy Lions", has been selected to screen at the 13th Annual Vancouver Asian Film Festival. Directed by North Films duo, Jeff Chan and Ken Tsui, "Dandy Lions" premiered at the inaugural Kitsilano Film Festival in August. More details to come!

Finally...because social media can get a bit overwhelming...

Assaulted Fish is now on Twitter. We're also on Facebook and MySpace and manage a Yahoo email list. We don't want to be bombarding you with the same announcements again and again (unless you really like that sort of thing), so if you'd rather just receive one announcement, let us know which type of communication you prefer. See below to contact us.

Thanks for your continued support and hope to see you sometime this fall!

Go see JAPANGLISH at the Victoria Fringe Festival!

Japanglish

Assaulted Fish alumnus Yumi Ogawa brings her one woman show Japanglish to the Victoria Fringe Festival. We saw her debut performance on Friday night and she was fantastic! But don't take our word for it, check out some of the comments posted here. UPDATE: Monday Magazine gives Japanglish four stars!

For more information and show times, here are the Links to Yumi's site and the Victoria Fringe Site.

If you want to know more about the show, Yumi was recently interviewed by Sheryl MacKay of CBC's North by Northwest. The show has not been podcast yet but you can stream it from here (requires RealPlayer).

P.S. as if you needed another reason to support the Victoria Fringe Festival, they got their funding pulled by the Provincial Government at the very last minute. Go out there and show them that you love theatre!!
